Great Impressions DT - Sweet Birthday Wishes

This week I thought I was on top of stuff - finished my projects early and all I had to do was write up the posts...then I went to check the calendar to see what was next...oops! I designed my card using next week's theme.

Go figure. Well...at least my project's finished for next week!

So, say 'hello' to the pinch hitter...

This Skunk stamp is adorable, isn't it? Super easy to color with the new Summer Distress Inks and a water brush.

Clear embossing powder adds nice dimension without taking away from the image.

This Flourish Birthday Wish stamp has become a go-to stamp - love the swirls.

(The patterned paper was from my stash...I think it's a Bo Bunny Press paper...)

Okay...there's just a few days left to enter the monthly challenge...finish up your project & link it up!

Great Impressions DT - Sing, Oh Sing!

ETA: This card was chosen as the winner of The Pink Elephant Challenge #153!

Hello! This summer I've enjoyed birds hanging out in our trees: robins, sparrows and doves, to name a few, and, in case you haven't noticed, I love nature themed stamps! Lucky me, Great Impressions Stamps has quite a few and I just love this BIRD IN ROSES stamp, such an elegant image!

Distress Marker and Copic colored. Highlighted with Spicas.

Decided to use another Retro Sketch - and this one I'll use again - great way to use up those bits and pieces you just couldn't throw away! (C'mon...I know I'm not the only one who does this...right?!)

and this color challenge:

Love using black and white patterned papers - so easy to add a color or two. I used paper from Bo Bunny's Enchanted. The 6x6 pads are fabulous - the patterns are sized just right for cards!

Found those little wooden letters in my stash!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you've found a little inspiration and time this week to make a little something yourself...and if you do...
considering entering the Great Impressions Stamps monthly challenge!

Inky hugs,
Angi

Great Impressions DT - Birthday Bling

Happy Thursday my crafty friends!
Time for another Great Impressions Stamps project  - this week is BLING! I think I had it covered...
You be the judge...

Okay, you'll have to brace yourselves...I just had to sneak in a butterfly on this card...do you see it?

I used another Retro Sketch for the layout. Having a plan to start with makes card making a breeze...

Click the picture to see this sketch & more! Love their sketch images...

So back to the bling thing...the lovely thing about having a young 'girly' girl in the house is that I get to make LOTS of sparkly birthday cards: the more shimmer and shine the better!

The dimensional pearls on the hemline of Princess Molly's dress (that's really the name of this stamp - cute, right?!) and the handle of her wand were made using a Viva Decor Pen. All of the sparkly coloring was done in Spicas (the Princess was colored with Copics first, then shimmerized!)

Yes, shimmerized is a real word...it is the result of adding light catching bits, pieces or mediums to a project. lol

Love the texture and the iridescent shine the Shaved Ice adds.

Even the sentiment was embossed in a metallic purple!

Finally found a little bit of time to start working on my Inlinkz and discovered that Inlinkz is having a giveaway for using their tools! So...use their tools to list your supplies for any project and then link up for a chance to win!

Click the link for the giveaway details.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Playing along with these challenges:

Note: Still working on Inlinkz. Most of the supplies are shown. If you have any questions, leave me a comment or email me. Thanks!

Great Impressions DT - Dropping In

Ahhhh! Can you believe it's already Thursday?! Time for another Great Impressions Stamps project. I know I've been making a lot of cards with butterflies, but today - this time it does NOT have a butterfly!

This week I decided to try a sketch challenge with Retro Sketches:

Click the picture to see their past sketches!

I like the simplicity of this sketch - perfect for the set of Great Impressions Stamps I wanted to use!

Isn't this little chick just adorable?!

See how he's 'dropping in' - right into those pots!

This particular set of stamps would be perfect for a spinner card, too, don't you think? Thinking that will be the next project since I've got a nephew birthday coming up soon...

Your turn! Make a project using dies or punches and link up to our June Challenge!

Inky hugs,
Angi

WOYWW #25 (157) - Anniversary ATC Reveal

SPOILER ALERT: If you want your ATC to be a surprise, STOP! I reveal pictures of my WOYWW 3rd Anniversary ATC after the desk pictures below...

Happy Wednesday - it's the after party for the WOYWW 3rd Anniversary ATC swap - woohoo! I'm looking forward to blog hopping and peeking into all that crafty yumminess. I wasn't able to get to every desk last WOYWW, but I'm going to give it a try again, this week!

Here's my desk...unusually clean for me. I'm getting ready to start an online class and I need to have space to work! loll

A few things you'll find on the old desk this week:
...WHITE post-it notes (got almost 70% off on these babies - can't wait to use them!)
...wooden ice cream spoons
...Melody Ross chipart alphas
and...

...my mouse with a strip of Smash tape!

Decorating my electronics started out of necessity to keep from mixing up laptops & gadgets around the house, but when I discovered the washi tape did not interfere with the touch controls...all bets were off! When I need a change, I just whip off the old stuff and put on some new - love it!

Okay...here comes my ATC! Isn't this little angel adorable?
(I downloaded this image from the Graphics Fairy. Sorry I closed the window before I remembered to grab the weblink. You can search for her on the website.)

Ta da! Here's the whole tag.
There's lots of marbled shimmer on the background - hard to photograph, but trust me it's there!

I had a great time making these little bits! Inks, shimmer sprays, crackle stuff and one of my first Ali Edwards stamps.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you saw something you liked and had a chance to leave a comment, so I can visit you!

Inky hugs,
Angi

Great Impressions Stamps June Challenge - Punches or Dies!

Hello June!

I know...I'm a few days late, but that's pretty much par for the course for this time of year for me. Making the transition to a home that's busier than usual with the kids and the hubs home more often than not - a change I definitely like! - takes a little getting used to...

Today is the beginning of Great Impressions Stamps June Challenge. The theme this month is PUNCHES or DIES (or Silhouette, eClips, Cricut, etc...)

For some reason babies have been a subject I've heard a lot about recently; I've noticed I'm a bit low on my baby card stash, so naturally my challenge project is a baby card. Even better? May's Stamp of the Month stamps were baby themed!

If you don't have a local store that participates in the SOTM program, you can get May's SOTM stamps at the Great Impressions Online Store.

Here's a few notes about this card:

I cut white card stock using the Tim Holtz Movers & Shapers Alterations Die "family" and then stamped over it with the Great Impressions Stamp "New Little Baby" (C434). Using a blender tool and Distress Ink I colored the word "Family" to help it stand out.

I stamped the "Baby Boy Sneakers" (E756) in Versamark Watermark ink and then embossed them in white. I colored the sneakers using a blender pen and Distress Markers. The black stars were colored with a Black Glaze pen.

"Heaven Sent" (B221) is embossed in black and then layered over a die cut ticket and then layered over a die cut tag. All of the layers' edges were inked with Distress Ink.

There you have it, folks! Short & sweet. Can't wait to see what you make...remember to scroll down to the bottom of the challenge post to link up!

Inky hugs,
Angi
