Globecraft & PIccolo - Summer Sympathy Card

 T.G.I.F! (Thank Goodness It's Friday!)

Seriously. I am thinking this with more enthusiasm than you can imagine! As you are sitting in front of your computer, in the comfort of your home reading this post, I am camping in North Carolina. Yep. You read that right! Outside with the bugs and the critters, humidity and heat...and by the time you read this I will be on day 4.

Can I get a little sympathy?

How about a card? *wink*

Here's what you'll need from the shop:
Enamel Powder Micro Gold
Enamel Powder Micro Black
Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid
Steampunk Airship Accents (A100)

Other Supplies:
Stampin' Up! stamps:
background: Hardwood
flower silhouette: Serene Silhouettes
sentiment: Close As a Memory
Ink: Crumb Cake

crochet thread, natural

Stamp your background. Ink up your stamp with the Enamel Powder Adhesive and sprinkle on the Micro Gold. Heat. This is a beautiful, warm gold and the fine powder melts quickly.

Ink up your sentiment with the Enamel Powder Adhesive and sprinkle on the Micro Black. Heat. Love the texture and shine the enamel powder adds to a project!

Adhere the layers, tie on the crochet thread and add the Steampunk Airship Accent. The Accent just adds that little something that takes a card from nice to oooh!

Have a great weekend!

Inky hugs,
Angi

Sentimental #142 - Lace & Pearls

Happy Sunday!

It's time for another Sentimental Sunday Challenge - Pretty Laces & Pearls (plus a sentiment)

And we are sponsored by the lovely Krista of Saturated Canary!

Krista's images are darling and perfect for coloring therapy...and if you're in need of a little happy, be sure to grab a cup of something yummy and take time to visit her blog and say hello!

Speaking of color therapy, have you been by Designed to Color (DTC)? Need some color inspiration? How about a sketch? Using the current DTC sketch challenge and the Tuesday Trigger (Moxie Fab World) ...

I designed this card:

Sometimes we need a card that isn't celebratory. LET IT RAIN is a lovely digi that reminded me of 'the winds of change' and that Life can be less than...well, whatever we wanted it to be.

I'm not really a Led Zeppelin fan, but "The Rain Song" has lyrics that are thoughtful:

These are the seasons of emotion and like the winds they rise and fall,
This is the wonder of devotion - I see the torch we all most hold.
This is the mystery of the quotient - Upon us all a little rain must fall.

Lots of 'rain' going on...do you remember my dirty tags? Here's the one I used on this card, used as is, before I added a few more card layers, made with Distress Inks and Glimmer Mists:

On the inside...Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist drippage and a bit of splatter.

Glossy Accents used to make 'rain drops' and more Tattered Angels mist used for the cloudy background. Click the picture to see more detail.

I adore the melancholy, thoughtful feel of this digi. I'm humming Bill Withers' Ain't No Sunshine as I'm typing...here's hoping to a week of sunshine and happy.

Can't wait to see what you make!

Inky hugs,
Angi
