Fell off the wagon
and rolled into the ditch!
It's been awhile since I've played along with WOYWW...(I wonder how many of my last woyww posts start out with something like that?!) Glad to see that Julia Dunnit, the Queen of Peek is still at it!
In fact, it's been awhile since I've played in the studio at all.
I really thought I'd have the studio up and running weeks ago.
There's been the unpacking, family visits and family visiting, Boy Scout camp, birthdays and all the activities associated with moving to a new state and the selling and buying of 2 houses. Ugh.
Thankfully, we are done with the houses and beginning to settle in a bit.
There are still about a dozen boxes to be unpacked. Mostly house items and out of season clothing...we think. The movers marked the boxes with what the majority of the contents were, but there were A LOT of boxes marked with the main item, but filled with lots of something else. For instance, my antique typewriter was marked on the box (it was located near the family room in the old house) but the majority of the box was my husband's t-shirts (definitely not in the family room!)
Sigh.
I am making progress. I do love the room. Lots.
Want to see what I've been up to? Obviously, these are the BEFORE shots...the AFTER shots are still in the making, a work in progress! lol
Sorting out the contents of the boxes...lots of boxes. |
The only item officially hung up is the clock. My main desk is buried in the middle of the room. Can't wait to get the pegboard framed and hung up. Then the real organizing of the workspace begins!
The Workbench - where most of the actual creating happens.
paper, stamps, light table, stuff & more stuff
got milk? |
My family drinks a lot of milk. At least the cartons came in handy! Originally, I had saved them to use for mini books, but they were the perfect size for paints, mists, stamps, punches...you get the idea!
Putting things in places, but I suspect it will be a couple of months of use before I really get my workflow figured out in the new room.
Thanks for stopping by!
Inky hugs,
Angi
Oh I know that feeling of being overwhelmed by the mountain of boxes & thinking you will never be straight & tidy again! I hope you battle through it &it looks like your craft room will be great once you have it all set up how you want it! Ali #102
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW, I shudder at the thought of trying to pack up my craft room contents and move them!

AAAAch. Moving is so hard! My last move was many years ago but your photos bring back all those memories. Hope you are getting to the end of it soon.
ReplyDeleteWell that is some tidying job, rather you than me. Can I make a suggestion that you involve someone else in your sorting. Sometime another pair of hands and eyes helps you reduce that overwhelming panic that can come over you when you try to face things on your own.
ReplyDeleteHAve fun
