Monster Birthday

Just a quick post to share another card I made awhile ago. Looking at the card now, I think I would add a few more stamped cupcakes or maybe a chipboard number...hmm...maybe I'll take care of that tomorrow. Maybe.

It's difficult to tell from the picture, but there was a lot of love put into this card! Distressing, sponging, fussy cutting, masking, coloring, shiny crystal effects accents...this was not a quick card, my friend! Still, I do like the card, just think it needs a little 'wow' factor, KWIM?

The weather the last couple of days seems to be changing. I, for one, am looking forward to Fall and all it brings with it!

If you're interested in a little more info about my project, read on! It was pretty simple, really. Well, after I made the first one the rest were easy! I love the saying, "there are no mistakes, only embellishment opportunities!" That was the case here.


I had the concept of this card in my head for awhile. I liked the concept so much that I decided to make 10 of these cards. Finally got around to gathering my supplies and made this card while watching a movie with the family...mostly in the dark!


Turned the lights on, only to discover the acrylic block I had been using to stamp the tree had transferred brown ink from the corner of the block to the middle of my card! Ugh!


It was too late to design another card. Luckily for me, the sentiment I had chosen fit that oval punch!


In case you're wondering why there are no adorable Lawn Fawn stamps on my project, it's because I don't own any, yet! I happened upon the Lawn Fawn blog through Jennifer McGuire's blog just in time to sign up for the blog hop. Coincidence?! ;) I think not! (there's a link to their site at the top of this post!)

Another Month Blows By...

Wow. Already it's August. The summer has just flown by here! The kids are back in school and life is becoming scheduled again. 

Definitely mixed feelings.

Loved hanging out on the porch, reading, snacking, water fights, late nights, movies, SYTYCD, popcorn, painting, Scrabble, fishing, smores, photobooth, dancing in the grass barefoot...

Going to miss those days.

Looking forward to regular bedtimes, early morning conversations, a house that stays just a little bit cleaner, friends, family time, cooler weather, hot chocolate, baking, weekends...

Been organizing and prepping for lots of upcoming projects: cards, altered art, art journaling... lots of creative musing going on!

This week is a good one...pictures & posts going up over the next few days...cross my heart.
