March Cards For A Cause

{EDITED TO ADD: Whoops! The correct date for the April CFAC is Wednesday, APRIL 15th, 1100-1900 [NOT the 18th; I've corrected the date below.].

Obviously didn't have time to upload the photos from the last Cards For A Cause (CFAC - what's this? Read more HERE.). We had several people stop by, including a girl scout troop from Landstuhl!

(apologies for the glare...didn't think to take the cards out of the clear envelopes before photographing - duh!!! Send me an email if you want to know what stamp sets and tools were used in any of the projects.):

This cutie was designed by Nicole Watt This design was so customizable using the Sale-A-Bration set Punch Pals and the border using the eyelet border punch.

These two cards were designed by Linda Auld. (Linda also designed an adorable card using the Dreams Du Jour set, but I forgot to get a picture of it!) Love the bright colors - hurry up, Spring!

These 2 are mine...the first uses Trendy Trees. (I have a habit of using ribbon on most of my cards, so I challenged myself to make a couple with NO ribbon - much harder than you know!)

Wild About You is my new favorite! The set includes zoo animals that you can layer or paper piece. See the little metal heart? It's actually a paper clip - really! The plastic coated ones are super cute, too, after their twisted makeover...use them at work - no more boring paper clips for you!

I found the tutorial on Kristina Werner's old blog (watch the video). If you haven't ever visited - GO NOW! You won't regret it!

These last 4 were designed by Phyllis Jachowski, showing a bleach technique! The designs were stamped in waterproof ink first. Then an Aqua Painter filled with bleach (yep...good ol' Clorox) was used to 'paint' and lift the cardstock color, then dried using a heat gun. She then used chalks to add some color. A black pen was used to add in detail. (the light peach color was the result of the bleach)

I {heart} this stamp set! (It's a retired Hostess set - sorry!)

The leaves were chalked, but the flower color was lifted with the bleach!

This card used NO CHALKS! The changing colors were dependent on how much bleach was applied.

Okay...we're sorry you weren't able to make CFAC in March, but that's okay. Mark your calendars - the next CFAC dates are April 15, May 13, and June 10. Hope to see you there!
