Hi, Folks.
Had a post all planned for today, but due to an unforeseen event I have no pictures to share!
My camera has gone MIA.
I have spent the last few days searching high and low to no avail. I can't tell you how frustrated I am!
Sigh.
It's been 6 days.
I haven't given up hope that it will just show up somewhere around the house, but there are moments to take in and projects to post...so please bear with me as my iphone becomes my main capture device.
Breathe it all in...art it all out...
in...out...
Inky hugs,
Angi

Sentimental Sundays #139 - Thanks
Ok...I know it's not Sunday. It's a fabulous Monday! :) I'm just a bit behind this week, but I'm getting stuff checked off my to-do lists and taking care of a few things that have come up. In the meantime, I've been doing the happy dance over the last few days, looking forward to sharing good news with you...
I'm a new Design Team member for the Sentimental Sundays Challenge Blog where the focus is handmade projects with a sentiment!
You can see the whole team and the official announcement HERE.
This Wednesday stop by for a peek into my studio and the creative chaos that is currently the state of affairs. I'll admit it's not a pretty sight...or site...lol I'm in the process of reorganizing and dare I say p.u.r.g.i.n.g...not an attractive word, is it?
Anyhoo, I love visiting thrift stores for my artsy supplies. Things I find are inexpensive and sometimes worse for wear, but I love to give these forsaken items a little TLC! Buttons are one of my favorite finds. Over time, I have collected quite a few buttons and figured I better start using them!
Lately, I've been using sketches to help me use up my stash. I've got to get rid of my excess or use it up, so I'm being proactive in my purging! I found a new to me CAS challenge blog:

Added stickles to all the buttons
(felt like the buttons needed a little something...ack...I can't stop!)

This sketch is about as CAS as you can get! I searched around for another sketch, thinking I'd like more options, but then decided to give it a go...after all it's called a challenge, right?
Thought I could use a little help, so this image from the
was the extra little oomph! I needed:
See the snow, the rolling hills, the bright dancing colors? I'm from Alaska and this picture leads me to thoughts of this: aurora borealis
Gather all those elements together, get the creative juices flowing and here's my take:
What do you think? It was really difficult for me to stay within CAS boundaries!
We would love to have you play along with us, so click on THIS LINK to see the rest of the DT's projects, get some inspiration and then link up your project!
Thanks for stopping by!

Card Makin' Mamas - CAS
Hey, Everyone! It's Inspiration Week at the Card Makin' Mamas Challenge Blog! This challenge is CAS - Clean and Simple. Love the look, but like to use up my stash of paper, fibers and embellishments; it can be difficult to stop adding something else to my cards!
I started with a CAS sketch - the CAS Weekly Challenge at Splitcoast and after seeing this at Case Study Challenges:
decided to go with a Valentine's theme and kraft.
What do you think?
Linking up to these challenges:

And since I was keeping the design simple with a minimum of embellishments, I popped up the main panel.
This year my hubby and I will have been married for 22 years. We've known each other even longer. This year our anniversary is on 11❤12❤13 - isn't that cool? Not sure what we'll do, yet, but whatever we do you can bet we'll be celebrating!
Thanks for stopping by to see my card! Would love to see your CAS card, too. Be sure to link up to our current challenge HERE.
Inky hugs,
Angi

Card Makin' Mamas - First Card of 2013!
It's been over 2 weeks since I last posted! I had planned on getting back to blogging after the kids had gone back to school, but my youngest got the flu. 3 more days of staying home, only this wasn't as fun! Lucky me, E. is a good patient.
I had thought that I would get some serious stuff makin' done while there were no car pools, no early mornings, no homework, etc. but strangely I really had no desire to make anything...except fudge, cake, cookies...hmmm...I guess I was in a different kind of makin' mood!
After all that time off, I needed some inspiration. Usually, I find it visiting my favorite blogs, pinterest and perusing art and style magazines. This time I found just what I needed at:
What I liked: the layers, soft blue/greens & yellow, the pop of color from the rug, the circles on the bedding, the flowers, the white space and light, the bit of bold black
Here's my first card for 2013:
I think it's pretty evident that I found bunches of inspiration!
Recently, I posted the inspiration post on the Card Makin' Mamas Challenge Blog for the current challenge: ANYTHING GOES and included this card! The inspiration post always includes a DT project or two and a few projects from the participants that follow the guidelines & theme of the current challenge!
This week I will be setting a few creative goals, including working through my stash, organizing my studio, and scheduling my creative time, so I can exercise that creative muscle on a regular basis. I'm looking forward to sharing my creative journey and documenting my experiences in words, pictures and art. 2013 is going to be a wonderful year of growth!
Thank you for stopping by. I hope that you found something uplifting here today!
Inky hugs,
Angi
