As you can see, Sheryl's designs range from gorgeous to ummm...unconventional - there's something for everyone!

Now when I was looking over the images I found Funny Face and I couldn't stop myself from smiling! See, I have a brother. Just one. And he is one of my most favorite people in the whole wide world!

Really.

He's a great friend and when we get together there is always laughing involved! Usually food and sometimes water... my kids have this crazy story about how when we were visiting my brother and his family, he and I had this huge water fight...in the house in the middle of winter!

So, when I saw this image I knew I would be designing a card for him...

"I smile because you are my brother"

I didn't want it to be too girly, so not a lot of adornment or layers. Simple polka dots and a brad and an arrow turn for the tag pull.

"I laugh because there is nothing you can do about it!"

The original image has long hair, but since I don't, I colored up the image and then fussy cut the image and snipped off the long hair.

I am laughing, right now, while I'm typing this. I was just thinking about the last time we FaceTimed and he was making faces at me when he didn't think I was looking!

This one is for you, Little Brother!

Angi

Sentimental Sundays #145 - B is for...

“Fairy tales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be vanquished.”
― G.K. Chesterton

Happy Sunday!

It's time for another challenge with Sentimental Sundays! This week's challenge:

sponsored by the wonderful:

Have you seen these images? GORGEOUS. Endearing. Sweet. Whimsy. Feminine. Fun. Just a few words that come to mind...

...and when I saw LOVE'S FIRST KISS

I couldn't help but create a card with Blooms, a Button and a Bird. Feminine touches with a bit of wistfulness. Isn't she lovely? I love the falling dress, the flowing hair...

And a bit of fun!

I hope that you'll join us in our "Use 3 Embellishments that start with the letter B" challenge!

Inky hugs,
Angi

Card Makin' Mamas - Green

Woohoo! Friday!

Most days start out good days, don't they? I think most ideas start out as good ideas, too. lol I know I can recount a bucketful of ideas that seemed like a good idea, but didn't pan out so well...you?

Simply Betty Stamps

...and what a prize!!! Just for linking up your card (following the theme and the guidelines) you will be entered into the drawing for a $15 Gift Certificate to Simply Betty!

I don't usually choose stamps that I 'just like' but don't know what I'm going to do with. 99% of the time I choose my images because I have AN IDEA. When I saw MAD SCIENTIST CHRISTIAN...well, let's just say I have a boy and he has LOTS of ideas...I try to give him the room to experiment and explore. Some days, this is easier than others!

Added stickles to the green splotches.
I'm so impatient - I picked up the card 3 times before the stickles were dry and had to reapply!

You would think I had learned the stickles lesson a long time ago...did it again! I designed the sentiment from a quote in my quote file. (Yes, I really have one.) Fits my creative style!

It's March, it's almost Spring, there are still Girl Scout Thin Mints floating around...
link up your card with a bit of GREEN on it!

Angi

Great Impressions Bunny Hop

It snowed a couple of inches yesterday, so I don't know about you, but I could use a few Spring ideas to keep me warm!

Happy Tuesday and welcome to

I'm your first destination! If you get lost along the way, you can come back here and find your place in the list at the end of this post. Be sure to leave comments at every blog along your way for the chance to win some fabulous prizes!

I know you've got a few stops to make, so I'll keep this short and sweet!

I've used 4 stamps on this card! On both vanilla panels I stamped the darker image first and then added the second image in a lighter ink.

Here are the stamps I used, just in case you like them!

The glitter splatters were a lot of fun!
And I couldn't forget about the inside of the card...

I hope you found a little something today. Your next visit of inspiration is CHERYL. I'm sure you'll find springtime loveliness on her blog - don't forget to leave a comment at each stop!

Inky Hugs,
Angi

Sentimental Sundays #144 - Fairies with Wings

With 3 girls, I have the opportunity to make shimmery, blingy, glitter induced goodness pretty often! This week at The Sentimental Sundays Challenge Blog I have the perfect opportunity to indulge my girly side - we're making cards using

Our challenge is sponsored by:

donating: 3 digis, winner's choice

We received a couple of cute digis, perfect for our theme. I had originally planned on using both for my card, but there was a mishap...I'll show you why she didn't make the cut later...for now here's my card:

This little card barely fits into an A2 envelope. It's a fun size! It's an easel card made using a couple of Spellbinders dies. It's just big enough for an image or two, but is small enough to layer up quickly. The card base, all the way up thru the pink patterned paper was made...hmmm...about 2 years ago! Originally, it was meant as a sample for a card class I was teaching, but I decided to go with a different color scheme at that time. I'll all about reuse, recycle, remake!

The green doily was sprayed with a shimmer spray. I'm going to guess that it was a Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Key Lime...still one of my favorite green sprays!

Even the pink circle panel is edged in clear glitter!

Seriously, can you have a fairy without sparkle? I didn't have bling in the right color, so Copics to the rescue! Bling on the top and the bottom!

Unless I really love a color, I tend to buy embellishments in white and creams these days; there are so many ways to color up an item to match your project. For me, (someone with a bunch of paint, ink, sprays, etc.) it seems almost silly to have an embellishment in a rainbow of colors...unless it's buttons! (I have a bit of a thing for old buttons...I'm in the process of reorganizing my studio...you'll see what I mean soon!...)  The large center flower was colored with a shimmer spray and the center flower with a copic and colorless blending solution. The side flowers are old (really old...as in I think 8 years, maybe 9...) Prima flowers.

Okay...the mishap fairy...I had colored up the girls using Copics. Decided to add Glossy Accents to their eyes for a little 'realism' and as soon as I was finished with the first fairy, I realized I had added the shine, not only to her iris and pupil, but to the entire eye! It made her look like she had frog eyes! Here's the after...

...I tried to fix it. I used an exacto to scrap off the bulge (performing eye surgery! ha!) on the first eye, but the second was too dry and peeled off the paper. Ugh. I tried to fix it, but then she just started looking a little too crazy-eyed.  You know, like those taxidermy animals with the one eye that follows you all around the room?!

Sigh.

I may just cut off her head and layer her up with a new image...feeling a bit 'Mary Shelley' today!

Wow. A lot of chatter this morning. Thanks for listening. You're the best!

Don't forget to stop by the Sentimental Sundays Challenge Blog to see the rest of the DT's projects. I'm sure you'll be inspired to create your very own 'fairy' lovely paper project!

Inky hugs,
Angi
